Onshape Named as one of the "Top Places to Work in Massachusetts" for 2019

Onshape, developer of the Onshape® Software as a Service (SaaS) product development platform, was named as one of the "Top Places to Work in Massachusetts" in the annual employee-based survey from The Boston Globe. The Onshape platform, which combines computer-aided design (CAD) software with powerful data management and real-time collaboration tools, helps engineers and manufacturers improve their processes to make better and more innovative products.

The "Top Places to Work in Massachusetts" list recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state, as voted on by the people who know them best ? their employees. The survey measures employees' opinions about their company's direction, execution, connection, management, work, pay and benefits, and engagement. Employers are placed into one of four groups, based on the size of the employer's workforce in Massachusetts: Small, for employers with 50 to 99 employees in Massachusetts; Medium, for 100 to 249; Large, for 250 to 999; and Largest, for companies with 1,000 or more employees based in Massachusetts. In its debut appearance this year, Onshape is ranked #5 in the "Small" category.

Onshape was acquired on November 1, 2019 by PTC (NASDAQ: PTC), which itself was named to the "Top Places to Work" list for the third consecutive year. PTC is ranked #13 in the "Largest" category, following its #6 ranking in 2018 and #14 ranking in 2017.

"Hiring is the most important thing we do," said Jon Hirschtick, co-founder of Onshape. "We're extremely proud of the workplace culture our employees have built over the last seven years ? a culture where customers come first, and people feel a deep connection to what they do. I want to thank all our talented and motivated employees who make Onshape's game-changing technology possible ? and who continue to push themselves to help take us to the next level."

"It's no coincidence that Onshape is joining another company recognized for being a ?Top Place to Work,' and PTC's ongoing success in the ?Largest' category is no small feat," continued Hirschtick, now EVP, President of SaaS, PTC. "We look forward to blending the best elements of our workplace cultures together, and continuing to offer our teams rewarding career opportunities with a healthy respect for work-life balance."

The rankings in "Top Places to Work" are based on confidential survey information collected by Energage (formerly WorkplaceDynamics), an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention, collected from nearly 66,000 individuals at 323 organizations in Massachusetts. The winners share a few key traits, including offering progressive benefits and giving their employees a voice, while still encouraging them to have some fun on the job.
