CellTrak Announces Home Care Aide Scholarship Program

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. and WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CellTrak, the provider of the industry's leading mobile point of care communication and compliance solution for home care and hospice, announced today a joint scholarship program with the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC).
In our current context of health human resource shortage and in particular shortage of home care aides across the country, this scholarship will support the recipients in their career journey.

"We can strengthen home care overall if we strengthen the people who provide direct care," says William A. Dombi, President of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC). "This scholarship program is one proven way of supporting caregivers to advance their careers in home care. We are very pleased that CellTrak has stepped up to sponsor this program."

November is National Home Care Month, a time to celebrate the practice of home care, and all of the individuals who make it possible, Part of this months' planned celebrations includes one week focusing solely on home care aides. Home care aides are key to our health system transformation and this new scholarship program will give five recipients an opportunity to move forward with educational efforts within the industry.

"I will never forget my first homecare visit with Mary; she is the first Aide to use CellTrak's point-of-care on a mobile phone in 2006. Mary picked me up at her office at 7am and we drove off to her first patient. I watched Mary document electronically the visit notes in the app on her phone. 500 Million visits later, I realize it all started with Mary, my first Caregiver to use CellTrak! Thirteen years ago, we wanted to empower aides to have their electronic point-of-care solution that would help them continue to make a major impact in patient's lives," Andrew Kaboff, CRO & Founder, CellTrak. "I am profoundly appreciative of all home care Aides around the world who take care of our family and friends. They make the difference! We have always wanted to give back and today we are excited to announce the start of the CellTrak Scholarship program. We believe the Aides who have helped build CellTrak one visit at a time deserve the opportunity to grow within their career. Aides work hard and in challenging situations, it is both timely and appropriate that CellTrak give back!

This will be the first year a home care aide specific scholarship program has been offered through the National Association for Home Care & Hospice. Aides awarded with scholarships will be announced in November 2020. If you are interested in nominating someone for the scholarship program, please reach [email protected] or [email protected].
