Vicky Thomas of Vivint Smart Home Named a Utah Business 20 In Their 20s Honoree

Vivint Smart Home today announced that Vicky Thomas, director of product management and vertical lead for apps, is a 2019 Utah Business 20 In Their 20s honoree. Utah Business selected Thomas for her role in inspiring the innovation at the heart of one of the leading smart home companies in North America.

"In addition to her tremendous intellectual curiosity and technical prowess, Vicky is incredibly passionate about building great people, teams and cultures," said Jeremy Warren, chief technology officer at Vivint Smart Home. "This unique combination of a fantastic product manager and outstanding leader has led to the development of some of our most innovative products."

Thomas led product management to help Vivint create truly smart homes using artificial intelligence, one of Vivint's most ambitious initiatives to date. In her current role, she oversees Vivint mobile apps, which are a critical component to a complete smart home experience. As the primary way to manage a Vivint smart home, the mobile apps are the interface more than 1.5 million customers use to control their home from anywhere.

As a dedicated leader, Thomas has grown her team at Vivint from 13 employees to more than 40 in the past year. She also runs the Career Growth Track for the Vivint Women employee resource group. In addition to her job responsibilities, she is active in the community through volunteering, championing STEM education and speaking at conferences.

Before Vivint, Thomas was a product manager at Adobe and an early employee at Utah-based Lucid Software. She has a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The annual Utah Business 20 In Their 20s program honors Utah's young and ambitious professionals who are already taking the business world by storm and who are sure to continue impacting Utah's business community for decades to come.
