Carisk Partners Senior Leaders to Present at National Workers' Compensation and Disability Conference: Navigating Mergers & Acquisitions & Impact of Social Determinants of Health

Carisk Partners (Carisk) announces two of their senior executives and thought leaders have been invited to present at the upcoming National Workers' Compensation and Disability Conference & Expo (NWCDC), Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nov. 6-8, 2019.

During his presentation, "Mergers & Acquisitions: Proceed with Caution or Advance with Agility," 4:15 p.m. - 5:15 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, Joseph Berardo, Jr., CEO, Carisk, will cover case examples, challenges and opportunities associated with consolidation, and offer practical guidance for employers and employees on how to navigate successfully through M&A activities. As a participant in the panel discussion, "Social Determinants of Health in Workers' Compensation Claims," David Vittoria, LCSW, MCAP, ICADC, senior vice president, Clinical Services, Carisk, is proud to join several industry experts in exploring how the identification of critical case success factors - such as a patient's socioeconomic status, reliable transportation, safe and affordable housing and finances ? and alignment of support and resources to minimize the impact of these variables, can significantly help patients on their pathway to recovery.

Berardo says, "As the tempo of M&A activities and appetite for consolidation responds to market variables, opportunities will continue to emerge. Astute dealmakers must recognize the upside, key risk areas, common mistakes and resources needed to optimize transactions. Carriers and employers need strategies to protect their interests and service levels, while business managers should understand the influence they truly have."

Berardo's presentation offers a roadmap to support front line business leaders in sourcing the most attractive opportunities, conducting due diligence, handling negotiations and successfully integrating. He also urges stakeholders to add capabilities and scale, create revenue diversity and better integrate risk in today's climate.

Vittoria will explore opportunities for workers' comp stakeholders to account for SDoH in the treatment of workers' comp related injuries.

"Social determinants of health are complex and interrelated," Vittoria explains. "Beyond medical treatment for an injury, conditions such as cultural beliefs, family and social support, education, socioeconomic and environmental factors must all be addressed, in tandem with the physical components of recovery, in order to ensure better health, and therefore, claims outcomes. At Carisk, we recognize these variables as being critical components to our role as advocates for our patients' well-being, and as stewards of our customers' resources."

The NWCDC is the industry's largest expo and offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn, share and network with colleagues and industry influencers.
