Building with Best Practices Now Will Help Companies Meet the Green Standards of Tomorrow, says Alliance Energy Partners

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 14, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- An October 2 article on Engineering News-Record details the World Green Building Council (WGBC) goal of obtaining net-zero embodied carbon in all new construction and renovation efforts by 2050. The ambitious program, which has limited authority but dozens of voluntary members, including governments and transnational corporations, will require new innovations in construction and green building. The article states that nearly 40 percent of global carbon emissions come from buildings; the consensus is that attaining net-zero in construction will, therefore, lead to significant environmental progress. Los Angeles-based green building consulting firm Alliance Energy Partners says that, while attaining these goals may be a few decades away, ensuring that a business property or residence is built or renovated appropriately now may help to limit the cost of future renovations that may have even stricter requirements. Moreover, it adds, consulting firms that offer all services under a single roof can help to keep the process cost-efficient, maximizing long-term savings.

Alliance Energy Partners says that many government and nongovernment programs have incorporated guidelines based on programs and institutions like the WGBC. The firm notes that many state and local governments across the United States either require or offer incentives for businesses and owners to use construction guidelines based on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) initiative or similar programs in an effort to curb environmental degradation. Alliance Energy Partners notes that its business was founded on the premise that it could help businesses and property owners build structures based on green programs such as LEED.

In California, the firm adds, all businesses and owners must comply with the state's Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards. For new owners, Alliance Energy Partners says that it is of the utmost importance that they hire consulting firms that are aware of all of the current regulations to ensure that properties are either built or renovated using compliant methods. Otherwise, these new owners may face very serious penalties, the company adds. Owners can limit costs by finding firms that are able to offer all services themselves.

Alliance Energy Partners says that it prides itself on being able to provide all of the necessary services under a single roof, removing the risk of unwelcome and sometimes very expensive surprises that come when firms have to contract outside expertise. It's definitely worth it, the firm explains. Building structures that are highly energy-efficient, savings on future energy costs could be substantially lower than if the client company had used cheaper yet inefficient building practices.
