tentree and Steller announce partnership to target the 1.3 billion annual international travelers with "Tell a Story, Plant a Tree" campaign

GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Sept. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- tentree, one of the fastest growing apparel brands in North America, has announced a partnership with the market-leading travel storytelling platform Steller to launch a global campaign aimed at travelers called "Tell a Story, Plant a Tree."

The campaign is targeted at the 1.3 billion annual international travelers, and to those who consume the roughly 500 million stories viewed every day on leading social media platforms. Both companies will target these audiences with a simple but impactful proposition, download the Steller App, buy a tentree theme (there are two options: one for $2.99 that plants one tree, and another for $29.99 that plants ten trees), create a Steller story, and share to all social media channels.

Steller is an Apple Editors' Choice Award winner, and is the market leader in travel storytelling, with users from 189 countries and over two million stories on the platform, with new ones added all the time. Since 2012, tentree has grown from a small local brand to a global movement, inspiring environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and community education worldwide.

For each theme sold, tentree plants trees in regions with critical reforestation needs, such as the Peruvian Amazon, Madagascar, Haiti and many others. With over 30 million trees planted and counting, this is just the beginning of tentree's goal to help reforest and revitalize the world. Tentree hopes to plant one billion trees by 2030, and Steller is an important factor in achieving that goal.

"Thirty million trees is a major milestone for tentree, but it is just the beginning," says Kalen Emsley, tentree CMO. "As tentree grows, so does the impact. Our partnership with Steller enables us to reach a large audience in tune with the health of the planet: travelers. Steller-enabled travelers and the trees they plant are going to change lives."

"The opportunity for truly impactful storytelling has never been more vital," says Pete Bryant, Steller CEO. "Our goal is to empower travelers with the tools to tell great stories, and to help meet the goal of tentree to plant 1 billion trees by 2030. This partnership continues our push as a 'platform with purpose,' now enabling travelers to help the tree-challenged communities of the world with a simple click."

The trees planted by tentree enrich impoverished communities by providing economic empowerment, environmental preservation, and education. Tentree is committed to ethically responsible manufacturing and uses eco-conscious materials in all products.

After purchasing a tentree theme on Steller the customer will receive a unique tree code. With this tree code, the customer will be able to follow his or her tree in its path to be planted. Once the tree is rooted, the tree registry program allows customers to track, monitor and learn about its health and growth, as well as the social and environmental impact the tree makes.

"With the devastating fires in the Amazon, we believe it is timely to focus this initiative in that region," adds Emsley. "With this campaign we will target the planting of trees in the Amazon Forests of Peru, an area in need of critical canopy protection."

"We believe our users and their followers will embrace this opportunity and participate in purposeful storytelling that will make a very real difference," adds Bryant.

Currently, tentree's planting is focused in Peru, Madagascar, Nepal, Senegal, Haiti, Canada, and the United States. Tentree partners with not-for-profits such as Canadian Wildlife Federation, Plant with Purpose, American Forests, and Eden Reforestation to ensure it has a targeted, lasting impact.

Tentree products are available at over 1,000 retail locations in North America, and many internationally. To shop or find a store near you, please visit http://www.tentree.com.
