CPA Practice Advisor Names BPM Partner Daniel Figueredo Among "40 Under 40"

BPM LLP, one of the 50 largest public accounting and advisory firms in the country, is pleased to announce that Partner Daniel Figueredo has been recognized in CPA Practice Advisor's "40 under 40 Awards" for 2019 for his leadership and innovative thinking in the accounting profession.

With more than 15 years of experience, Figueredo is a Partner in BPM's Assurance practice, head of its Nonprofit industry group and Partner in Charge of the Firm's industry program. His teams have served more than 400 nonprofit organizations, dedicated to arts and culture, environmental rights, higher education, politics and advocacy, private and community foundations, private schools, religious organizations, social enterprises, trade associations and impact investing.

Figueredo also leads BPM's fastest growing practice, FinTech. His understanding of emerging and disruptive funding technologies, like blockchain, cryptocurrency, marketplace/online lending, payments, and financial information services, complements his nonprofit practice, as Figueredo is passionate about social enterprises, impact investing, financial inclusion and social impact use cases for Blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

"Daniel's exceptional skills have quickly propelled him into Firm leadership. He quickly rose through the ranks and became BPM's first homegrown partner. Daniel helps us better serve our clients, and challenges us to be a better firm by questioning the status quo. He is truly a trusted partner to his clients and has been a vital asset to his colleagues. He couldn't be more deserving of this recognition," said Assurance Practice Group Leader, Brian Finnegan.

Recognized for innovation, Figueredo served as the first CPA Resource Partner for the Financial Solutions Lab of the Financial Health Network, an organization focused on helping companies build products and services to embrace inclusion and promoting "FinTech for Good." He also serves on the Board of Governors for the Online Lending Policy Institute, a public policy organization focused on education, research and fostering innovation to help improve the FinTech ecosystem in the U.S. Under Figueredo's leadership, BPM became the only non-Big Four firm named as a finalist for the LendIt Industry Awards in 2017.

Figueredo's work with nonprofit organizations extends well beyond his practice. He volunteers hundreds of hours annually and is especially dedicated to groups focused on opportunities for at-risk youth, including The Guardsmen, a group of professional men in San Francisco who work to send 2,500 children to summer camp programs and support them with more than 250 school scholarships. Figueredo serves on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Planned Giving Council, an organization dedicated to expanding philanthropy through charitable gift planning. He is an active speaker and instructor for the AICPA and CalCPA.
