Novogradac Announces 2019 Developments of Distinction Award Winners

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Novogradac Journal of Tax Credits today announced the winners of the 2019 Developments of Distinction Awards. The awards recognize outstanding achievement and excellence in the development of affordable rental housing using the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and/or tax credit developments using U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development financing. To be eligible, developments were placed in service between Oct. 31, 2017, and June 14, 2019. The awards will be presented Oct. 3 at the Novogradac 2019 Credit and Bond Financing for Affordable Housing Conference in New Orleans.

"This year's winners represent a range of developments, from a large-scale renovation of public housing in New York City to the rehabilitation of an old hotel in California into permanent housing for the chronically homeless," said Rebecca Arthur, MAI, conference co-chairwoman and Novogradac partner.

• Preservation of Existing Affordable Rental Housing: Mt. Baker Village Preservation in Seattle
• Family Housing: Village at Westerly Creek 3 in Aurora, Colo.
• Rural Community Impact: Big Chair Lofts in Thomasville, N.C.
• Metropolitan Community Impact: Boulder Pines Community Campus in Las Vegas
• Special Needs Populations: The Orchard in Santa Ana, Calif.
