Little Steps Sponsors Gather for GRIN2B Cocktail Reception Fundraiser

EVANSTON, Ill., Sept. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Little Steps Pediatric Therapy will be one of the sponsors of the GRIN2B Foundation's first cocktail reception fundraiser. Gather for GRIN2B will be held on Monday, October 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found Kitchen and Social House in Evanston.

Proceeds from the event will help support families and individuals affected by GRIN2B-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder. This rare condition results from changes to the GRIN2B gene, which is part of a family of seven genes that encode proteins that form a receptor that sends chemical messages between neurons in the brain.

Individuals affected by a GRIN2B variation commonly experience low muscle tone, developmental delays, and delayed/limited speech or a lack of speech, among other symptoms. Some associated conditions and disorders include cortical visual impairment, seizures, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities.

GRIN2B Foundation is a parent-run organization dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by variations on the GRIN2B gene and furthering research on the gene.

Little Steps Pediatric Therapy focuses on delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to improve the lives of children of all ages.
