Bay Street Bull debuts fall Entertainment issue featuring Marvel's first Asian superhero, Simu Liu
TORONTO, Aug. 29, 2019 /CNW/ - Available September 5th, Bay Street Bull is proud to present its 2019 fall Food, Drink, and Entertainment issue featuring Kim's Convenience actor, Simu Liu, on the cover. Recently announced as the lead of the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Liu takes on the mantle of Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) first Asian superhero in the studio's first Asian-led film franchise.
"I've always had a special attachment to superheroes," says Liu. "The fact that we now have an Asian character who is among that pantheon, and not in an auxiliary way but really his own character with his own movie, is extremely profound."
In the interview, the Canadian actor discusses the immigrant experience, representation in popular culture, and taking on the biggest role of his life.
