Professionals Working with Youth to Address Bullying are Meeting in Chicago to Build Healthy Communities

CHICAGO, August 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The International Bullying Prevention Association (IBPA) is setting out to "put the pieces together" in the puzzle that is bullying in today's world. Its 16th annual conference is rooted in groundbreaking, evidence-based research to inform interdisciplinary practices of all kinds. With over 40 unique workshops empowering attendees to build their most effective "tool-kit" of knowledge and strategies yet, IBPA captures its belief that diverse perspectives are necessary in tackling bullying response and prevention. This year's conference offers social media and gaming industry safety experts along with leading researchers sharing about their work specific to bullying prevention. The conference's program was crafted with unwavering intention and all-encompassing vision - there is something for everyone in a space where everyone's perspective is valued as something special.

An extensive exhibit hall, poster sessions, student-led sessions, yoga each morning and networking opportunities round out a 3-day event that is sure to connect agencies with common missions and offer evidence-based tools and strategies that participants can use in their communities the very next day. The presentations are not designed to create ephemeral inspiration; they're delivered with the expectation that they can make a real impact in the areas of social-emotional development, mental health, school climate and so much more for students across the globe. School administrators, community agency staff, mental health professionals, educators, counselors, psychologists, law enforcement, university faculty and students will be working side by side to share, connect and move their work forward.

"The Chicago National Conference will hold the empathy experts, the compassion scientists, and the cyberbullying investigators all in the same unified space. Our keynote presenters, Dr. Jeanette Betancourt's, Jasmine Baber's and Maya Enista Smith's messages are just what we need to ignite this immense wealth of knowledge towards new, undiscovered solutions," says Nicolette Granata, IBPA's Communications Coordinator.
