Stratford School Unveils New Campus Expansion, Adds Bilingual and Early Childhood Programs for Community

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Stratford School, a California-based private school with an emphasis on the areas of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) will be adding three new elementary classrooms and more than doubling the outdoor play area at its Altadena campus in Southern California. Approaching its fourth year in Southern California, Stratford is also pleased to kick-off the 2019 school year with two new programs to round out its robust Preschool program ? new programs include a Mandarin Bilingual Preschool and an Early Preschool Program (designed specifically for children two years of age).

The Altadena campus, which currently serves students from preschool through third grade, has added more room to grow, now with 11 fully renovated classrooms, a multi-purpose room, and abundant outdoor play areas featuring a multi-use field. The new classrooms are part of Stratford's overall program expansion plans and will also be home to two newly launched specialty programs, a Mandarin Bilingual Preschool and Early Preschool offering.

"As our footprint expands at our Altadena campus, we look forward to not only welcoming new students but continuing to grow as a vibrant school community," said Judy Burbank, head of school for the Stratford-Altadena campus. "At Stratford, we are excited to introduce our new preschool programs, as well as expand into the upper Elementary grades to meet the growing needs of our families."

Designed to capitalize on a child's language-sensitive period in their life, Stratford School's Mandarin Bilingual Preschool program will be offered as a five-days-per-week program in order to create a truly immersive environment for children to organically engage in Mandarin with consistency and continuity. Stratford's same content-rich preschool curriculum will be taught by a two-teacher team ? one speaking and instructing in Mandarin, and the other in English.

As parent demand for providing educational programs to children at young ages increases, the Early Preschool program at Stratford School will start at two years old and is also a five-days-per-week program. It serves as a stepping stone for children to develop new skills and introduces them to a creative learning environment. The program is designed to build children's confidence and inspire joyful learning through exploration, inquiry, and discovery. Plus, an added program benefit to parents is that "pull-ups" are perfectly fine, and Stratford teachers are there to help support potty training when the child is ready.

"Founded in Northern California in 1999, this year marks the celebration of Stratford School's 20th anniversary in providing a positive, well-rounded, engaging education to students from preschool through 8th grade. As we continue to plan for the next 20 years and beyond, we are thrilled to be developing new programs and expanding our campuses," said Sherry Adams, founder of Stratford School. "At our Stratford Altadena campus, these new Preschool programs and additional Elementary classrooms will continue to fulfill our mission of providing a stimulating and nurturing school environment that motivates students through high expectations in a collaborative and fun learning environment."

Stratford School's Altadena campus is located at 2046 Allen Avenue, Altadena, CA 91001. For more information on Stratford School's Altadena campus, please visit http://www.stratfordschools.com/altadena.
