Enforcement Notice - Hearing - IIROC to Hold Settlement Hearing for Sherbrooke Investment Advisor Jean-Pierre Paquette


MONTRÉAL, July 17, 2019 /CNW/ - The Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) has scheduled a hearing to consider whether a Settlement Agreement entered into between IIROC staff and Jean-Pierre Paquette should be accepted.

The Agreement concerns an allegation that Mr. Paquette conducted unauthorized trades in a client account.

The hearing is not open to the public, but will become open in the event that the panel accepts the agreement. If the agreement is accepted, the Hearing Panel's decision and the Settlement Agreement will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.

The alleged violation occurred while Mr. Paquette was a Registered Representative with the Sherbrooke branch of Industrial Alliance Securities Inc., an IIROC-regulated firm. Mr. Paquette is still employed with Industrial Alliance Securities Inc. IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. Paquette's conduct in January 2017.
