MedRisk's Mary O'Donoghue to Moderate a Panel on Patient-Centric Care in Workers' Compensation at WCI 2019

Patient-centered care has been a major talking point in discussions of quality healthcare for some time, but what does it really mean and how does it apply to workers' compensation? MedRisk's Chief Clinical Officer Mary O'Donoghue will moderate a panel of experts as they define patient-centered care and identify elements that do and do not impact outcomes during the Workers' Compensation Institute (WCI) Workers' Compensation Educational Conference, August 11-14.

Panelists are David Deitz, MD, principal of David Deitz & Associates; Sentry Insurance's Director of Managed Care, Jean Feldman, RN, BSN; Michael Murphy, director of corporate risk management for Kennametal Inc.; and Jonathan Nutt, head of AIG's business operations/medical management services. They will explore the use of patient-centric care in workers' compensation and examine the value of employer support and communication through the life of the claim, in addition to presenting real-life examples on how healthcare access, patient education and positive communication impacts outcomes.

Part of WCI's National Trends track, "Patient-Centric Healthcare: Is It Really Possible in Workers' Compensation?" will start at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, and details are available at https://tinyurl.com/wci-Medrisk.

MedRisk is also exhibiting at the conference; please visit Booth #621. To register or learn more about WCI 2019, please see https://www.wci360.com/ .
