Creator and Breakout Star of Bravo's "Your Husband Is Cheating On Us" JD Lawrence Sets a World Record Surpassing the Guinness World Record for Playing the Most Characters

NEW YORK, July 16, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- JD Lawrence, the creator and breakout star of the Bravo television series "Your Husband Is Cheating On Us" and BET's "The Clean Up Woman", set a world record June 29th at the Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport Connecticut for the Most Characters Played by One Actor in a Single Theatre Production. Lawrence played an eye popping 72 Characters in 90 minutes in his one-man show I'll Always Love My Momma now entitled Skitzophrenia. Surpassing the Guinness Book of World Records, performance by Indian actor Laxman Deshpande, who played all 52 parts in the three-hour, one-man play Varhad Nighalay Londonla. Lawrence's Skitzophrenia is inspired by actual events that took place in Amityville, New York where JD, (Two Time Telly Award Winner and NAACP Legacy Award Recipient), has been trying to self-medicate his depression after the loss of his mother. In order to help get through it, he decides to finally let go of the family home where he grew up. However, while moving out the last few items, he comes across the family photo album, the turn of each page brings back good, bad, happy and sad memories. Causing him to reminisce and re-enact the many characters he encountered working at the family deli, pool hall, laundromat, as well as his life lessons as an adult. Skitzophrenia is a funny and moving examination of family, forgiveness, love, life and loss. The show also address the negative stigma surrounding mental health in the black community. Instead of seeking professional help for conditions such as depression and anxiety, many in the community resort to self-medication (drugs, opioids, alcohol, etc.) or isolation in an attempt to solve their problems on their own. This issue of masking pain is especially prevalent amongst black men.
