WASHINGTON, July 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The NIHC is pleased to announce Lowell Schiller as a keynote speaker at the National Industrial Hemp Council's 2019 Business Summit. The meeting will be held August 12-13, in Portland, Oregon. It will be FDA's first major public presentation since the agency's hearing on cannabis and hemp on May 31st.
Schiller serves as the FDA's principal associate commissioner for policy. In this role, Mr. Schiller is responsible for overall leadership of FDA's Office of Policy, manages agency-wide processes for the development of regulations and guidance, and provides leadership and support on a broad range of policy issues including hemp.
NEW NIHC SPEAKERS:
The summit features several sessions and presentations, including a unique in-depth discussion from ABA's Ed Elfmann on "Banking and You ? Understanding the current banking situation around industrial hemp, credit, loans, transactions and regulations."
The rift between federal and state law has left banks trapped between their mission to serve the financial needs of their local communities and the threat of federal enforcement action. Attend to hear more from the ABA's perspective.
Lucy Infeld, associate, and Christopher Strunk, counsel for Beveridge & Diamond, will speak about "The Current Legal Regulatory Framework on Industrial Hemp". Their presentation will discuss the road to success and profitability, while considering how to manage the minefield of legal and regulatory information overload in this ever-changing industry.
Whether you are currently in or soon to be entering the industrial hemp industry, the 2019 Hemp Business Summit will provide you with the tools for success in this rapidly growing field. Registration is $395. The special room block rate of $189 ends July 19, 2019. https://hempindustrial.com/events/
