Media Invitation - Ultimate Call for Help to Minister Roberge - 90% of the parents of the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal forced to withdraw their child - Protest on Thursday

MONTREAL, June 20, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - The Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal (PCMR) are calling for the help of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Mr. Jean-François Roberge.

An internal survey of the elementary school's parents of the Petits Chanteurs indicates that more than 90% of them will take their children out of the music program.  This survey was initiated following the CSDM's final decision to transfer them to a school in the Villeray neighborhood that would require them to miss some of their academic classes due to an estimated two additional hours of transit per day.

"If Minister Roberge does not intervene immediately it will be the end of the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal. We ask that he act as quickly as possible to preserve this unique institution in Quebec. All that is required is a direct subsidy by the Ministry of Education at no additional cost for the taxpayer. If the minister refuses to intervene, we ask that a reasonable grace period be provided so that we may find a viable solution to keep this unique institution alive" says Pierre Eloi Talbot, Chairman of the Board.

What: More than a hundred singers of the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal, parents, friends, supporters and personalities of the artistic community will join their voices for a final call for help.
