Best Practices in Chemical Plant Safety Panel to Feature MFG Chemical's Barry Lassiter at Specialty & Agro Chemicals America, September 5, Charleston, SC

MFG Chemical, a global leader in specialty and custom chemical manufacturing, will send VP Operations, Barry Lassiter, to speak on Best Practices in Chemical Plant Safety, to be held on Thursday, September 5 at the upcoming Specialty & Agro Chemicals America in Charleston, South Carolina.

Mr. Lassiter is one of the world's foremost authorities on chemical plant safety, having served a 40 year career at DuPont managing operations and safety functions, then joining MFG Chemical as Director, EHS&S, where he instituted a world-class safety culture throughout the company.

According to Barry, "There is nothing more important than creating a safe work environment in the plant because all employees have the right and expectation to return home to their families safe every day. Establishing a desired safety culture is a great undertaking and requires continuous management... but if on a daily basis you reinforce Safety as a 'Value,' it becomes part of your company's DNA, is embraced by everyone and pays big dividends to both the employee and the company. But beyond all else, it is the right thing to do."

According to Conference Organizer Tom Leahy, "Plant safety is a hot topic throughout the chemical industry. Everyone wants and deserves a safe work environment, and most companies recognize they could improve in this area. We called upon MFG Chemical's Barry Lassiter to speak on this important topic because of his passion for safety and his well-known record of safety achievements at DuPont and MFG Chemical. I believe this will be a very popular session."
