Lymphoma Research Foundation Honors Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits with 2019 Hope Award


NEW YORK, June 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) ? the nation's largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services ? presented the 2019 Hope Award to Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits (SGWS), the world's pre-eminent distributor of beverage alcohol. The company was honored during the third installment of Swirl: Chicago on May 30 at the Casino in Chicago.

Given in recognition of corporations, businesses and individuals who have worked diligently toward the Foundation's mission of eradicating lymphoma and serving those impacted by this blood cancer, the 2019 Hope Award was presented to SGWS in appreciation of the support of LRF's Swirl: A Wine Tasting Event series, where SGWS is a Founding Sponsor. Since 2013, the Foundation has been able to expand its series from its inaugural market in Miami to five additional markets including Chicago, Dallas, Minneapolis, New York City, and Orange County, Calif. In addition, the Foundation marked a major milestone for the series, raising more than $1 million since the series' inception.

The Hope Award was presented by LRF's Chair of the Board of Directors, Michael Werner during a special award ceremony at Swirl: Chicago. LRF Board member, steadfast supporter of the Foundation's Swirl series and Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations at Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits Kevin Fennessey accepted the award on behalf of SGWS.
