Karamba Security Awarded "Industry Choice Company of the Year 2019" at TU-Automotive Annual Event in Detroit

TU-Automotive--Karamba Security, a world-leading provider of embedded cybersecurity for automotive, IoT, and Enterprise Edge devices, was awarded TU-Automotive's "Industry Choice Company of the Year" at TU-Automotive Detroit 2019. Karamba was recognized for its innovative cybersecurity technology that helps automotive OEMs and tier-1s effectively detect and prevent hackers, keeping passengers safe and reducing cyber concerns for consumers and regulators. Being named an "Industry Choice Company" highlights the fast adoption of Karamba's runtime integrity within the automotive industry.

The award is the latest in a long line of accolades for Karamba, which provides embedded, deterministic security for connected systems. For connected and autonomous automobiles, Karamba enables "self-defending" electronic control units (ECUs), which are sealed against attempts to override the ECU factory settings. The award is a recognition that cybersecurity is key in mass adoption of connected and autonomous cars.

"We are proud and honored to receive such great recognition," said Ami Dotan, Karamba Security CEO and co-founder. "Becoming the Industry Choice for 2019 is an acknowledgement that the automotive industry views in-vehicle cybersecurity as an essential part of the equation. Further, automatically hardening the vehicle ECUs is absolutely necessary to achieve the goal of delivering connected and autonomous cars without compromising safety due to cyberattacks."

Since entering the automotive cybersecurity space in 2016, Karamba has continuously innovated and led the agenda of this industry through product innovation and expedited customer adoption of runtime integrity software. Its first product, Carwall, winner of the 2017 TU-Automotive Best Cybersecurity Product, changed the industry focus from detection of the CAN events to prevention of attacks on the ECU. Karamba's second product, SafeCAN, winner of the 2018 TU-Automotive Best Cybersecurity Product, solved the need for authenticated CAN messaging while addressing CAN bandwidth limitations. Karamba Security is one of a limited set of strategic partners to AutoISAC, an industry-wide forum for companies to collaborate to identify threats sooner.

TU-Automotive Awards are the automotive industry most prestigious and anticipated awards. The selection of "Industry Choice Company of the Year" is based on votes from thousands of the show attendees and provide further validation of Karamba's technology adoption and impact. TU-Automotive Detroit is the world's largest auto tech conference & exhibition, shaping the future of connected auto mobility.

Karamba Security's market leadership has been acknowledged by Gartner as a 2018 Cool Vendor for IoT Cybersecurity, and in early 2019, Forbes named Karamba one of 25 companies to watch in 2019.
