Sertis, Co., Ltd. launches "Sertis Face Scan", an AI-powered face recognition system that operates in real-time and with class-leading accuracy. The company is working in partnership with AirAsia to test face recognition boarding systems at Senai and Kuching International Airports in Malaysia. This technology aims to optimise the airline's boarding process with improved speed and safety while enabling a more seamless passenger experience. The system will go live later this year.

Mr. Tee Vachiramon, Chief Executive and Founder of Sertis revealed, "Sertis is a leading technology company that provides end-to-end solutions ranging from data infrastructure and analytics to AI driven face recognition systems. Sertis has developed Sertis Face Scan to deliver accurate and reliable AI-powered face recognition system for airlines and airports around the world. Our partnership with AirAsia, a leading low-cost airline in Asia, is proof that Sertis can deliver world-class solutions for the aviation industry. Sertis Face Scan comprises of state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms that are extremely accurate across the highly diverse population that fly with AirAsia each day. Furthermore, these models are hardware optimised allowing them to run on resource-constrained devices at real-time speed. This optimisation helps to lower hardware costs, giving airlines a more cost-effective and reliable face recognition system for their boarding process.

Following the successful deployment of Sertis Face Scan software in Senai and Kuching International airports in Malaysia, Sertis has strengthened their partnership with AirAsia through the installation of a face recognition system for access gates at RedQ, AirAsia's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. Sertis, together with AirAsia, also showcased Sertis Face Scan technology to Dr. Mahathir Mohammad, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and to all the honourable guests during The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2019 (LIMA'19), one of the largest maritime and aerospace exhibitions in the Asia-Pacific.

"In the future, Sertis and AirAsia plan to deploy the face recognition technology to additional airports and to use this technology at other parts of the passenger's airport experience, such as check-in and baggage drop. The use of advanced AI technology will increase the speed and convenience of passengers flying with AirAsia, creating a genuinely class-leading passenger experience for this innovative Asian low-cost airline."
