Ateneo Graduate School of Business to Require Scores from the NMAT by GMACtm for Admission to Business Graduate Program

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), a global association of leading graduate business schools, announced today that Ateneo GSB, a leading business school in the Asia Pacific region, will require NMAT by GMACtm scores from all applicants seeking admission into its business graduate program. They are the first Philippine business school to require an NMAT by GMACtm score for admission.

"This is a significant milestone for GMAC in our efforts to standardize computer-adaptive testing in emerging markets. The NMAT by GMACtm exam was developed to the same high-quality standards as the GMAT exam and designed specifically to address the needs of the local market," said Jason Lawrence, Market Development Director, East Asia. "With the support of leading business schools, the success of the NMAT by GMACtm in the Philippines and beyond will help more schools realize the benefits of standardized testing."

"Our partnership with GMAC will help us identify and admit the best possible class of students each year for our school, the most important metric to measure our success among our peer schools," said Professor Rudy Ang, Dean of the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. "Our decision to discontinue our own examination and migrate to the NMAT by GMACtm as the exclusive test instrument for admissions to our graduate programs is based on our belief that the GMAC assessment will be a more reliable tool for assessing our applicants' level of preparedness for graduate studies."

NMAT by GMACtm exam launched in the Philippines in 2018 and will be available for on-demand testing beginning in May 2019.

The NMAT by GMACtm exam is used for admissions to some of the leading graduate business programs in emerging markets including Philippines, India, South Africa and Nigeria. Designed by the makers of GMATtm exam, the NMAT by GMACtm exam measures the skills required for academic success in management programs. Currently the exam is delivered in 11 countries to help domestic schools attract the domestic candidates into their post graduate programs.

The schools that accept NMAT by GMACtm scores in the Philippines include: Ateneo Graduate School of Business, De La Salle University, De La Salle University - Dasmarinas, Asian School of Management, Virata School of Business and University of the Philippines School of Business Administration and Arellano University.

Candidates can log-on at www.nmat.org to register and schedule their NMAT by GMACtm exam and select their date and time slot. Currently, there is one test center available inside Ateneo GSB's campus, in Makati.
