Media Advisory - Leaders to tackle key urban challenges at Canvas, CivicAction's 2019 Summit


TORONTO, April 25, 2019 /CNW/ - Five hundred of the Greater Toronto Region's most creative civic minds will gather at Canvas, CivicAction's 2019 Summit, next Monday, April 29 at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).

CivicAction is a premier civic engagement organization that brings together senior executives and rising leaders from all sectors to tackle challenges facing the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. (CNW Group/CivicAction)

Canvas will convene senior and emerging leaders from all sectors, communities and experiences to roll-up their sleeves and generate an action plan for five pressing challenges that affect the region's prosperity and quality of life:

  1. Preparing for the future of work;
  2. Unlocking inclusive leadership;
  3. Preventing sex trafficking;
  4. Tackling housing affordability; and
  5. Supporting resilience to extreme weather.

Come hear from and speak to experts on these topics, as well as people with unique lived experience, and see CivicAction crowdsource solutions.  

Every resident in the region can participate in the day thanks to a facilitated livestream focusing on housing affordability, and engagement through social media using #CanvasGTHA. A link to the livestream will be published on CivicAction's website the morning of the event.
