Dr. Brock Pumphrey Offers LANAP and LAPIP Laser Procedures to Treat Gum Disease Around Teeth and Implants

ATLANTA, April 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dr. Brock Pumphrey of Midtown Center for Advanced Periodontics, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry is now certified in the LANAP and LAPIP protocols. Dr. Pumphrey is on the leading edge of periodontics, treating patients with a minimally invasive laser treatment with favorable and predictable results to save their teeth and implants and help regrow bone lost to periodontitis peri-implantitis.

"Our top priority is your dental health and smile, and part of that commitment includes incorporating state of the art technology and cutting edge techniques to provide the best results possible for our patients," said Dr. Pumphrey. "With the LANAP and LAPIP protocols, we are able to address the very real and serious problem of gum disease while also keeping our patients comfortable due to their minimally invasive nature."

The LANAP protocol can be performed in as little as one treatment session, and is safe to use on patients with health concerns such as diabetes, heart disease, and hemophilia, without discontinuing medication. It is the only scientifically proven laser gum disease treatment FDA cleared to regenerate the bone and tissues lost to gum disease.

The LAPIP protocol is a first line treatment approach for failing implants or peri-implantitis as it addresses the underlying causes affecting the health of both the bone and the gum tissue around the implant. A fiber the width of 3 human hairs is inserted between the implant and the gum. Laser energy kills bacteria, vaporizes cement, and stimulates stems cells found in your bone to reduce the bacterial infection and promote healing.

Gum disease is a chronic bacterial infection that rarely has any symptoms in its early stages. Despite the lack of symptoms or pain, the disease can still cause serious damage to your mouth, leading to loss of teeth, which has been tied to decreased lifespan. Additionally, several other serious illnesses like cancer, heart disease and diabetes have suggested links to gum disease.
