Opti Names David Rubinstein as Chief Executive Officer

BOSTON, April 18, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- OptiRTC, Inc. (Opti) today announced the appointment of David Rubinstein as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Rubinstein, a startup and technology industry veteran, has served as Opti's President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) since he joined the company in January 2018. He succeeds Marcus Quigley, Opti's founder and stormwater industry pioneer, who is transitioning to serve the company as Senior Advisor.

David Rubinstein

Rubinstein brings more than 35 years of experience in building and scaling high tech startups. Prior to joining Opti, he held senior executive roles and was responsible for setting the strategy, operations, and structure at several high-growth SaaS organizations, including DataXu, Inc., Resolve Technology, and Invoke Solutions. He was also instrumental in leading Convergent Group to a successful IPO and the subsequent sale of the company to Schlumberger. Mr. Rubinstein graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with a BS in Management with Computer Science.

Formed as an independent company in 2014, Opti has grown to become the industry's leading provider of Continuous Monitoring and Adaptive Control (CMAC) solutions for stormwater management. In this next chapter, the company will be focused on partnering with communities, businesses, and engineering and consulting firms to manage their watersheds more proactively. With the ability to derive actionable insights from the Opti® Platform in real-time, communities and organizations can make data-driven decisions that optimize the use of stormwater infrastructure across entire watersheds.

"Creating reliable visibility into the performance of environmental systems and augmenting them with dynamic control capabilities is a necessary strategy for meeting the increasing demands they face," said Alex Bedig, Opti's Co-Founder and Vice President of Information & Technology. "Opti's products multiply the performance of existing stormwater assets. At scale, our products enable customers to reprogram how their watersheds handle storm events. I am excited to partner with David, a veteran at piecing together digital partnerships across many industries, to bring together the tools our customers need to enhance their ability to manage their stormwater environment."

With Sidewalk Labs as an investor and Microsoft as a partner, Opti provides best-in-class digital solutions with unparalleled processing, security, redundancy, and privacy. Opti's award-winning solutions are utilized by more than 150 facilities across North America and several of their customers and partners have received industry recognition for leveraging the Opti Platform to deliver improved outcomes for their communities.

"Marcus has been instrumental in helping build Opti into the company it is today. With our incredible team, we will continue to provide digital solutions which produce great savings to taxpayers, maximize the use of capital resources, and accelerate the benefits to communities," said Rubinstein. "The time is now for the stormwater industry to accelerate the adoption of digital technology solutions in order to proactively manage the mounting challenges brought forth by the legacy of piecemeal development, increasingly powerful storm cycles, and an ever-changing climate."
