benefitexpress Announces New Leaders in Product Management, Channel & Partnership Strategy

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., April 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- benefitexpress, the leading provider of cloud-based technology software and services for employee benefits administration, announced today that Michelle Northey joins its executive leadership team as Chief Product Officer, and Scott Evans assumes the role of Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Broker/Carrier Relationships.

In her new role, Northey will lead all areas of benefitexpress' product organization.

"Michelle comes to benefitexpress with two decades of Product Strategy and Product Management experience in the human capital and benefits industries," says Michael Sternklar, Chief Executive Officer, benefitexpress. "She is a proven leader who will work hand in glove with our IT, Operations, and Growth organizations to ensure we are continuing to enhance our existing offerings and making sure we deliver consistently on our technology investments." continued Sternklar.

Northey joins the benefitexpress team at a time of accelerated growth and impactful change. "Over the last two years, my primary objective has been to build the best leadership team in the industry," continues Sternklar. "Michelle rounds out this group of outstanding professionals."

Northey brings more than 20 years' experience to benefitexpress, across a variety of product strategy and product management roles, from executive leadership to development. "As I join benefitexpress, I am committed to delivering an exceptional client and participant experience through a combination of our domain expertise, service-centric focus and software solutions," says Northey.

In her most recent role as Global Product Leader at Willis Towers Watson, Northey achieved success in leading the HR Portal and Total Rewards Portal Software product offerings. She previously held senior leadership roles at ADP in Product Management and Product Marketing.

benefitexpress also announced an expansion of investment in channel partnerships, with the appointment of Scott Evans in a new role as Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Broker/Carrier Relationships.

"Our clients are increasingly looking for integrated solutions that provide value to them and their employees," says Sternklar, "and we have had tangible success in partnering with other world-class organizations in the benefits ecosystem. At the same time, we have just begun, and Scott will help us advance these initiatives with a focus on strategic growth."

In describing his expanded focus on strategic partnerships, Evans states, "We have only scratched the surface in building these go-to-market partnerships. These relationships have come in the form of collaborative partnerships with insurance professionals and advisors; in integrated technology that expands our offering; and in integrated service offerings such as co-branded solutions." Concluded Evans, "Expanding them will be one of the cornerstones for our future growth."

The success of benefitexpress in the last two years is a direct result of purposeful investment in people, infrastructure and process. The firm reported its most successful growth year in its history in 2018, attributed in large part to reinvesting in its team through recognition and rewards, new and challenging opportunities to grow, and expanding client rosters.
