New health centre opens in Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation
KITCHENUHMAYKOOSIB INNINUWUG FIRST NATION, ON, April 17, 2019 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada is working in partnership with First Nation communities to improve their health outcomes and well-being, and address health infrastructure needs.
Today, the Honourable Seamus O'Regan, Minister of Indigenous Services, congratulates Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation on the grand opening of their new health centre.
The Saggius Sainnawap Memorial Health Centre will improve access to quality primary health care in the community and will support a range of services and programs related to public health and dental care, including children's oral health.
The health centre includes additional office space that will improve delivery of programs and services such as mental health initiatives.
Indigenous Services Canada provided an investment of $18.5 million through the First Nation and Inuit Health Branch Social Infrastructure Funding for the project.
