Must-See Arts Programming in Sturgeon Falls
The Government of Canada supports the Conseil des arts de Nipissing Ouest
STURGEON FALLS, ON, April 17, 2019 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada is committed to promoting the presentation of the arts across the country, in both rural and urban areas.
Marc Serré, Member of Parliament (Nickel Belt), today announced $30,000 in funding for the Conseil des arts de Nipissing Ouest (CANO). He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.
This funding, provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will allow CANO to present various shows and activities as part of its programming over the next three years.
During his visit, Mr. Serré took the opportunity to highlight the $46,000 in funding provided to CANO through the Community Cultural Action Fund, part of the Official Languages Support Programs. This support enabled Les Pyromaniaques, a community theatre group, to stage their ambitious theatre project Et si on allait plus loin.

CANO is a multidisciplinary arts centre whose goal is to increase appreciation for and the reach of Francophone artists and art by providing a full range of visual and performing arts programming.
Each year, the Canada Arts Presentation Fund supports approximately 650 professional arts festivals and performing arts series, as well as other activities related to arts presentation, in more than 250 cities and communities across Canada.
The Community Cultural Action Fund is a component of the Official Languages Support Programs. It supports and strengthens the cultural, artistic and heritage expressions of official-language minority communities.
