Over the last couple of years, Canada is facing one of the worst public health crisis in modern history that took the life of over 10 000 people in the last 3 years only. Overdoses are now the most common cause of death of men aged 30 to 39 years old. However, the situation does not seem to cause a major response from public authorities that will put an end to this crisis.
The situation we are in has nothing to do with the sporadic waves of overdoses we witnessed until now, the measures put in place until now don't seem to have a major impact on mortality. This situation drives us to the conclusion that there is no solution in sight in the current legislative framework on psychoactive substances. More than 20 cities in Canada, among which 3 in Quebec, will gather so that we put an end to this major public health crisis, a crisis driven by policy. They talk, we die!
