Latin Trade relaunches website for 25th anniversary

MIAMI, March 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Latin Trade, the Latin American business publication, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2019. As part of this special year, the company just relaunched its website to bring new content every month that will aim to celebrate the past quarter of a century, as well as the next 25 years for Latin America, its companies and people.

The relaunch of the website is also a homage to Latin Trade's columnists. No other publication in the world has such a distinguished group of analysts on Latin America.

They come from think-tanks and institutions including Brookings, The Wilson Center, Inter-American Dialogue, Atlantic Council, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, the OECD, and universities such as Harvard, Oxford, Princeton, MIT and Columbia.

Among them are Deborah Ancona, Professor of Management and Founder of the MIT Leadership Center, at the MIT Sloan School of Management; Andrés Velasco, former presidential candidate, former Finance Minister in Chile and professor at Columbia University, and Dan Restrepo, former principal advisor on Western Hemisphere issues at the White House.

Tools to better understand the region

The telecoms sector has slowly lost its shine in Latin America, according to the most recent results of Latin Trade's Multilatina Index. This year's index was based on calculations for 400 companies, as opposed to the previous year's 25. "We've made statistical experiments that show how the new index can be used to make tremendously accurate GDP predictions in the region, months before official figures are published," said Santiago Gutiérrez, Latin Trade Executive Editor.

These results have found that, on average, sectors such as oil, retail, energy, food and drinks have recovered in 2018 compared with 2016, while sectors such as telecom have slowed down since 2014.

The new website has many indexes that allow business leaders interested in the region to anticipate the direction of the biggest trends.

Along with business intelligence products, videos and newsletters (CFO, Daily News, Asia-Latin America Monthly, Latin Business Traveler) readers will also find exclusive interviews with top leaders including Fernando González, CEO of Cemex; Juan Orlando Hernández, President of Honduras; Ana Paula Assis, CEO at IBM Latin America and former Mexican President Vicente Fox.
