BallenIsles Charities Foundation sets new fundraising record - Awarding $745,000 in Financial Grants to local area organizations
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., March 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Forty-six not-for-profit and civic organizations serving the local community have received financial grants totaling a record $745,000 from the BallenIsles Charities Foundation during its 2019 Grants Awards Ceremony at BallenIsles Country Club on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.
"The record-setting amount has brought the cumulative grants awarded by the Foundation to more than $3 million over the 8 years since our formation with the mission of 'Making a Difference' in the local community," BallenIsles Charities Foundation President Mark Freeman said.
Speaking during the Ceremony at Circle 100, one of the newest additions to the six dining venues at BallenIsles, Mr. Freeman said: "With the completion of the newly expanded BallenIsles Clubhouse, our fundraising events attracted sold out support. Each of the deserving organizations we carefully vetted and selected to receive a financial grant, undertakes extraordinary local community programs. The record funds raised are a credit to the generosity of BallenIsles members and residents, the terrific local businesses and Corporate Sponsors, the tireless contributions of all our volunteers, along with the assistance we received from the management of the Country Club and the Community Association. Together we're making a difference!"
This year's grants also include scheduled payments on a Multi-Year Impact grant to Feed the Hungry Pantry for a refrigerated truck that will positively impact the lives of thousands of families who otherwise might go hungry. The 2019 Designated Beneficiaries of BallenIsles Charities Foundation and the specific programs being supported are:
211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast: Provides funding for the operation of the 211 Suicide Prevention Helpline
Adopt a Family of the Palm Beaches, Inc.: Provides school clothing and supplies to children living in the homeless resource center
Alzheimer's Community Care: Provides funding for the Family Nurse Consultant Program
Back to Basics: Provides sets of school clothing for underprivileged children
Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Palm Beach & Martin Counties: Provides funding for the School to Work program
Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Inc.: Provides funding to maintain and enhance STEMulated Minds Program
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary: Provides funding for the new Discovery Center Rehabilitation and Educational Program
Caridad Center, Inc.: Provides pediatric dental care to children of the working poor
Carson Scholars Fund: Provides a Carson Reading Room in an elementary school
Center for Trauma Counseling: Provides emergency trauma therapy to children
Feed the Hungry: Provides funding for the Feed the Hungry pantry
First Tee of the Palm Beaches: Supports the First Tee after school program
Friends of Foster Children: Provides funding for support and guidance that grandparents and relatives need through Kinship Connections Program
Genesis Assistance Dogs, Inc.: Provides funding for the training of a mobility assistance dog
Grandma's Place: Provides care for children removed from their homes due to neglect or abuse
H.A.C.E.R. Ministry Corp.: Provides nutritious food to low income children and families through the Food Pantry Program
Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County, Inc.: Provides funding for the Weitz Construction Academy at Seminole Ridge High School to build one home
Healthy Aquatics Marine Institute: Provides funding to grow disease resistant corals and to reseed the reefs along our coast
Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of PBC, Inc.: Provides funding for Basics4Babies emergency pantry for infants
HomeSafe: Provides funding for the Residential Enrichment Activities Program for homeless boys
Jack the Bike Man, Inc.: Provides funding for "GOTTA GET A BIKE" afterschool and summer program for at risk kids
