Erin Donaldson of Life Care Services Named Rising Star in Senior Living


DES MOINES, Iowa, March 14, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Erin Donaldson, VP/director of operations for Life Care Services was named a Rising Star in the McKnight's Women of Distinction awards program today. The program recognizes women with an exceptional commitment in the field of senior living.

Today, Donaldson actively guides five Life Plan Communities in Wisconsin, Illinois and Connecticut. She also serves on the LeadingAge Illinois CCRC Cabinet.

Donaldson's passion to serve also extends to her local community. A unique example of this is Erin's work at Sedgebrook, where the senior living community successfully provided experiences for young adults with developmental and cognitive disabilities transition from high school to employment. Erin partnered with leaders at Sedgebrook, a non-profit organization in her county and the Illinois Department of Human Resources to develop an internship program called Project SEARCH.  This experience trained youth in working skills and provided interaction experiences with employees, guests, residents and families. After the first year, 80% of students landed permanent jobs, many of whom gained employment at the senior living community.
