Heuro Canada announces Western Canada's first Heuro PoNStm treatment centre

Leader in traumatic brain injury management bringing revolutionary neurological health technology to licensed clinics across Canada

SURREY, BC, Feb. 21, 2019 /CNW/ - Heuro Canada Inc., a leading provider of innovative neurological health solutions, announces the grand opening of the Surrey Neuroplasticity Clinic, Western Canada's first clinic to offer the groundbreaking Heuro Program featuring the non-invasive Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNStm) Treatment.

Combining 14 weeks of physical therapy with the use of Helius Medical Technologies' Health Canada-approved PoNStm device, it provides a powerful therapeutic treatment that is designed to help clients manage chronic balance deficits due to mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in a non-invasive way.

Sonia Brodie, Clinic Enterprise Manager at Surrey Neuroplasticity Clinic, says that while the clinic has been operational since January, the official grand opening on February 19th marks the beginning of a new era in neurotherapy.

"We are thrilled to provide PoNStm Treatment as part of the Heuro program," she says. "With this cutting-edge device it is now possible for many individuals with chronic balance deficits to regain their quality of life."

"The Surrey Neuroplasticity Clinic is Heuro Canada's second clinic opening," shared Rudi van den Broek, Managing Director of Heuro Canada. "With this technology we will be able to transform the lives of the thousands of Canadians who face a lifetime deficit from persistent symptoms from a mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (mTBI)."

The PoNStm  device is the first non-invasive means for delivering neurostimulation through the tongue and is designed to amplify the brain's powerful ability to heal itself. The neurotechnology offers a transformative treatment experience with a high success rate.

Nicole Strachan, clinical lead for Heuro Canada, says the 14-week treatment plan focuses on each client's personal rehabilitation.

"Although it is a set program, each therapeutic plan is highly individualized to the needs of the client," she says, "making it possible for Canadians to reach their personal goals of recovery and improve their overall quality of life."

Heuro Canada is continuing to deploy the Heuro Program in licensed clinics across Canada. With plans to open subsequent clinics in major urban areas, the company aims to improve the quality of life for Canadians experiencing persistent deficiencies, such as gait and balance, from past mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries.
