InventHelp Inventor Develops Automatic Turn Signal Shutoff for Golf Carts and ATVs (IPL-632)

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- While turn signals prove very effective in communicating directional changes to other drivers, they can sometimes be confusing if the driver forgets to turn them off after changing directions. Having experienced this potentially dangerous situation while using a golf cart, two inventors from Portland, Ind., came up with a safety feature for the turn signal mechanism in golf carts and ATVs.

They developed a prototype for SAFETY SIGNAL DISENGAGER FOR GOLF CARTS AND ATVS to shut off a turn signal in a golf cart or ATV after the turn is completed. As such, it safeguards against inadvertently leaving a turn signal flashing in traffic when it's not being used. As such, it reduces the risk of a traffic accident, which improves roadway safety. It is also convenient, effective and affordably priced. In addition, since it operates automatically, the driver doesn't need to remember to turn it off.

The inventors' personal experience inspired the idea. "I wanted to make it safer for people who drive around in golf carts after I had forgotten to turn off my directional signal, after making a turn, which almost resulted in an accident." one of them said.

The original design was submitted to the Indianapolis sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
