Koltek Energy Services EM MWD Directional Drilling Tools Succeed in Powder River Basin


CASPER, Wyo., Jan. 9, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Koltek Energy Services, a nationwide energy services company, announced today that its branded Sceptre Electro-Magnetic Measurement While Drilling (EM MWD) tool is having tremendous success in the Powder River Basin.

Koltek's EM MWD tools have successfully performed in the Powder River Basin on wells with measured depths over 21,000 feet and total vertical depths over 10,600 feet. Koltek's EM MWD technology has a proven track record in delivering pertinent well data while drilling, allowing energy companies to drill wells more effectively and efficiently. Koltek's enhanced filtering system allows the EM MWD system to accurately decode data transmitted from the downhole tool. Koltek's filtering system provides companies the benefit of not having to use a drop antenna system on adjacent wells.

The Powder River Basin, located in Wyoming, has seen an increase in oil and natural gas production with the advances of directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing.
