BC Electoral Reform Results: Leadnow Executive Director and Volunteers Available to Comment on Referendum Outcome


Leadnow volunteers made over 300,000 citizen-to-citizen phone calls and sent 50,000 text messages, to persuade and remind voters to vote YES to proportional representation.

VANCOUVER, Dec. 20, 2018 /CNW/ - Leadnow Executive Director, Lyndsay Poaps, and Leadnow referendum volunteers from all walks of life, are available for media interviews and commentary on the results of the 2018 BC Referendum on Electoral Reform.

The volunteers range from high school students in Surrey, to a retired businesswoman who hosted weekly phone banks in her neighbour's kitchen. One volunteer made 7000 phone calls while recovering from hip surgery in bed.

Win or lose, BC's electoral reform result represents the will of 1.3 million British Columbians who took the time to vote. The work of Leadnow volunteers represents a huge success for people power, and is a sharp contrast to the NO side, which ran a negative campaign backed by corporate interests.
