DriveItAway Acquires Groundbreaking New Technology for Mobility as a Service, Ends Relationship with HyreCar

HADDONFIELD, N.J., Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- DriveItAway Inc., the industry leader in car dealer focused shared mobility, announces today that it has purchased the technology and assets of Whip Inc., including its operations and technology team lead by Transportation as a Service visionary Adam Potash.  At the same time, the company announces the end of its association with HyreCar, so that it can fulfill its mission of working exclusively with automotive retailers.

DriveItAway's new platform, created exclusively for car dealers, focuses on the "low hanging fruit" of current shared mobility offerings, in providing the most advanced driver app and experience to facilitate temporary Car Sharing vehicles to Ride Share (Lyft, Uber) drivers, but also includes the ability for a dealer to offer new and used vehicle subscriptions, and even dealer centered "Peer to Peer" Car Sharing.

"I am very excited to begin this new era of dealer focused shared mobility for DriveItAway, with ground breaking software that allows a dealer to successfully implement a turnkey new profitable service, providing temporary vehicles with a 'path to ownership' for Lyft and Uber drivers, as well as offering any other car sharing, subscription or ride sharing model that may make sense for their own clientele," says John F. Possumato, the President & CEO of DriveItAway.  "Now we can be laser focused exclusively on the specific needs of automotive retailers in implementing all aspects of Mobility as a Service."
