March of Dimes Opens New Headquarters in Arlington, Va

ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for maternal and infant health, announced today the opening of its new headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, DC. The move comes amidst a two-year transformation designed to increase greater awareness and engagement with the organization's work in support of moms and babies across the country.

"Throughout our 80-year history, we have worked in partnership with individuals and organizations to advance breakthrough research, lead programs, and provide education and advocacy to support all families," said March of Dimes President Stacey D. Stewart. "Our move to Arlington enables us to remain at the forefront of this important work while collaborating more effectively with leading maternal and child health partners in the region."

Recognizing the need to adapt to changing times to drive its growth, March of Dimes began an organizational transformation two years ago. In addition to relocating its headquarters, those changes include growing its diverse talent base and strengthening its partnerships with corporate and nonprofit leaders across the country.

The new office, located at 1550 Crystal Drive in the Crystal City neighborhood, provides more than 28,000 square feet of space. The organization worked with Rand Construction, a woman-owned business, Wingate Hughes Architects, Ernie Jarvis of Jarvis Commercial Real Estate, Mark Teitelbaum of CBRE Brokerage Services, and signed a lease with real estate developer, JBG SMITH.

"Arlington welcomes March of Dimes to our community," Arlington County Board Chair Katie Cristol said. "This organization's work and legacy is inspiring, and we are honored that the strength of our community, as well as our proximity to the nation's capital, led March of Dimes to choose Arlington for its new home. We look forward to a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship."

"We are thrilled that March of Dimes is joining us in National Landing. We deeply value their commitment to maternal and infant health and believe that National Landing is a place where March of Dimes can provide a vibrant urban setting for its employees. Along with great views, plentiful transit options, and access to Washington, D.C., National Landing will provide March of Dimes with proximity to many other industry-leading non-profits," said David Ritchey, Executive Vice President at JBG SMITH.

As the leader in the field of maternal and child health, March of Dimes invests in lifesaving research, empowers women throughout their pregnancy journey, supports community programs, and advocates for federal and state policies on a bipartisan basis.
