Media Advisory - Unifor to launch #SaveOshawaGM campaign with Tree of Hope

OSHAWA, ON, Dec. 12, 2018 /CNW/ - Unifor will launch its #SaveOshawaGM campaign by unveiling its Tree of Hope in Memorial Park in Oshawa. Unifor will call on members of the public to show their support for GM workers and good jobs in Canada.

"General Motors is doing this because it thinks it can get away with it," said Unifor National President Jerry Dias. "We're going to send the message that Canadians will not stand by and allow GM to turn its back on loyal workers and shutter a plant that a community has been built around, purely as an act of corporate greed."

Supporters will be encouraged to sign a message of hope on the banner surrounding the tree and order a free #SaveOshawaGM holiday ornament to hang on their tree and share across social media.
