FEWA Announces Increased Criteria for Certified Forensic Litigation Consultant Certification

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA) is pleased to announce the addition of an exam as a requirement to complete the Certified Forensic Litigation Consultant certification process. Established by FEWA in 2014 as a way to improve the professionalism of expert witnesses, the CFLC certification has been a way to verify that an expert has a significant level of understanding of aspects of litigation. As a way of meeting client demand for experts to understand the increasing complexity and nuances of litigation, the FEWA Credentialing Committee has worked to improve the standards for the CFLC credential. The committee added the examination, covering nine distinct areas of study known as the "Core Program", which includes the duties and responsibilities of a forensic expert witness.

"After I received my CFLC certification from FEWA, I noticed a shift in my interactions with my attorneys which made working together so much easier. It was the in-between-the-lines granted respect for that I knew I was doing versus having to prove it moment by moment," said Susan MacCoy, CFLC, Cosmetology Expert Witness.

In order for an expert to receive the CFLC certification, they must meet the following criteria:

By hiring a CFLC certified expert witness, members of a litigation team can be assured that the expert witness has dedicated time, effort, and expense to understanding their role in the legal process and deepen their existing skills.
