Overtime Celebrates Basketball Culture with First-Ever Retail Pop-Up

NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Overtime, a sports network for the digital generation, is opening its first-ever retail pop-up this weekend, continuing the company's expansion into streetwear-inspired apparel.

"The Pull Up: Overtime Basketball Pop-up" is an interactive celebration designed to capture the excitement and energy of basketball's youthful culture and make it tangible through breathtaking photos, inspiring videos, music, and clothing that all embody basketball culture.

For "The Pull Up", Overtime has partnered with Casey Neistat's 368 to create an interactive pop-up experience that includes a store, a photo exhibit, art, and a variety of guest appearances and giveaways. The pop-up is open from 11am--7pm from today through Sunday, Dec. 9th, at 370 Broadway, New York, NY 10013.

The centerpiece of "The Pull Up" is a retail pop-up shop, featuring a variety of exclusive and limited-edition Overtime gear (including new t-shirt collaborations with graphic artist Sierato and model, athlete and entertainer Rachel Demita). "The Pull Up" will also feature a preview of footwear from a collaboration with Japanese brand SUICOKE.

Earlier this year, Overtime began selling a limited selection of t-shirts, hoodies and accessories via the Overtime store, in response to intense demand for Overtime gear from fans and athletes. This weekend, Overtime will triple that offering, introducing 20 new styles and designs -- including its first-ever outerwear, bottoms and footwear. These new styles include a number of limited-edition collaborations:

"When we started Overtime, it was about the young players, the who's next of basketball," says Dan Porter, Overtime's CEO and co-founder. "Now, Overtime has grown to be about about the culture of basketball, including streetwear, live activations and more. We are excited for people to join us for a celebration of basketball."

At "The Pull Up" visitors will have the opportunity to meet Sierato, Overtime Larry, Rachel Demita, Team Overtime and a few other special guests who are stopping by for meet-and-greets throughout the weekend. For a full schedule, visit http://itsovertime.com/popup.

"The Pull Up" will also include a curated exhibition featuring work from a talented group of photographers (some famous, others emerging talents) who have documented the game, from casual street ball all the way to the NBA. The seven photographers participating in the exhibit --including Cassy Athena, Johnnie Izquierdo, Nicole Sweet, Nia Simone, Cameron Look, Michael Eng and Dontae Putmon-- have contributed more than 60 images, ranging from a hoop in the middle of a jungle (Nicole Sweet) and Trey Young at one of his first NBA games (Michael Eng), to Stephen Curry playing with his daughters (Cassy Athena).

In addition, "The Pull Up" will include a gif and photo station where visitors can share their experience on social media, and a large, 19'x8' basketball mural by graphic designer and illustrator Braulio Amado. Amado is a celebrated artist whose work encompasses the worlds of streetwear (he helped design the Adidas x B.A.D. Studio at Hypefest 2018), music (he has designed album covers for Frank Ocean and Classixx, among others, and directed videos for Beck) and media (in 2018 alone, his designs have graced publications ranging from FADER and The New Yorker to The New York Times and Vanity Fair).

Overtime was founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs Dan Porter and Zack Weiner as a sports network for the digital generation. Overtime has since expanded to the college and professional ranks. Its content has driven well over a billion minutes watched year-to-date, reaching over 35 million unique viewers and generating 500 million views per month. A number of brands --including EA, Gatorade and Jordan-- have partnered with Overtime in the last year.

Overtime's investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Greycroft, NBA All-Star Kevin Durant and NBA Commissioner Emeritus David Stern.
