LeadingBiotech Officially Announces Its New Ambassador Committee


BOSTON, Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- LeadingBiotech (formerly Boston Biotech Conferences), creator of exclusive peer-to-peer CEO meetings for the biotech community, announces its new Ambassador Committee.

The committee is part of the recently appointed leadership team at LeadingBiotech. Along with CEO, Wendy Nelson Ph.D., and Chairman Bob Buderi, this select group of experts will have an influential role by advising on overall strategy and pinpointing important trends?helping to better serve its community of senior-level leaders.

Meet the LeadingBiotech Ambassador Committee:

Brian Gallagher Jr. Ph.D.
Partner, Abingworth
Gallagher has over 20 years of investing, business development, operational and R&D experience in both biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Prior to joining Abingworth in October, he was a Partner for SR One, the venture arm of GSK, for 8 years. Gallagher received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from University of Michigan.

Carol Gallagher Pharm.D.
Partner, New Enterprise Associates
Gallagher has nearly 30 years of experience in commercial, drug development, and business roles in both large and small biopharma companies. Prior to joining NEA in 2014, she spent several years as an independent board director. From 2008-2011, she was CEO of Calistoga Pharmaceuticals which was acquired by Gilead. Gallagher received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky.

Michael Gilman Ph.D.
Chairman and CEO, Arrakis Therapeutics
Gilman has made over 30 years of contributions in the biotech and biopharma fields. Prior to joining Arrakis Therapeutics in 2016, he was Founder and Chief Executive of Padlock Therapeutics, a venture-funded company focused on autoimmune disease. Gilman received his S.B. in Life Sciences from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of California, Berkeley.

Rachel Haurwitz Ph.D.
President & CEO, Caribou Biosciences
Haurwitz is the co-founder of Caribou Biosciences and has been President and CEO since its inception in 2011. She has a research background in CRISPR-Cas biology and is also a co-founder of Intellia Therapeutics. Haurwitz received her A.B. in Biological Sciences from Harvard College and her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from Universtiy of California, Berkeley.

Mary Lynne Hedley Ph.D.
President & Chief Operating Officer, TESARO
Hedley has over 20 years of experience in the biotech and biopharma fields. Prior to being co-founder of TESARO in 2010, she served as Executive Vice President of Operations and Chief Scientific Officer of Abraxis BioScience. Hedley completed two consecutive postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University and received her B.S. in Microbiology from Purdue University and her Ph.D. in Immunology from University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center.

Susan Windham-Bannister Ph.D.
President & CEO, Biomedical Growth Strategies LLC
Windham-Bannister has spent over 40 years advising major biopharma companies on strategic decisions essential for market access, growth optimization, and portfolio management. Prior to joining Biomedical Growth Strategies LLC in 2015, she served as founding President and CEO of the $1 billion Massachusetts Life Sciences Initiative. Windham-Bannister received her B.A. from Wellesley College, her Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management from Florence Heller School at Brandeis University, and her Sc.D. from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
