Trident University Aligns Bachelor in Health Administration Program with Key Professional Standards

CYPRESS, Calif., Nov. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Trident University International (Trident) has enhanced its Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) program. Driven by a desire to maintain a high level of academic standards and to best prepare graduates for the workforce, the new curriculum will be available for new and returning students starting in the January 2019 Fastrac session.

This initiative was led by Dr. Gayl Anglin, Department Chair of Trident's Health Administration programs, and changes were incorporated by all faculty in the BSHA program. Dr. Brandon Ryans also played an instrumental part as the lead faculty for course development.

These updates align Trident's BSHA curriculum with new standards published by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). Recognized as a professional authority, the AUPHA publishes recommended competencies for undergraduate programs based on skills desired by employers.

"Adhering to relevant, modern standards in our coursework is an important part of how we serve Trident students," stated Dr. Gayl Anglin. "By giving students a competitive edge, we are able to put them in a position to succeed in this growing field."

Introduced in 2017, the BSHA has proven to be a popular program for students seeking to work in health administration occupations. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare occupations are projected to grow at a rate of 18% from 2016 to 2026, which is much faster than the average for all occupations.
