Invitation Homes' Cheryl King Named to "Power Women in Real Estate 2018"

DALLAS, Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Invitation Homes (NYSE: INVH) today celebrated the selection of Cheryl King, vice president of investments, as a recipient of Connect Media's "Power Women in Real Estate 2018," which recognizes the nation's 50 most influential women in real estate.  The second annual awards honor the achievements of women who have reached respected positions of leadership in the industry and whose inspirational stories are paving the way for others.

While Invitation Homes represents a small portion of the overall housing market, the company buys and sells thousands of houses each year.  Following the 2017 merger between Invitation Homes and Starwood Waypoint Homes, the number of houses in the company's portfolio increased by more than 30,000.  As a result, there was a need to selectively refine the new portfolio by selling homes using a variety of both traditional and innovative disposition channels.  Cheryl was responsible for developing the market-specific strategies to achieve the company's disposition goals. Her highly focused and methodical approach contributed to her department exceeding its efficiency and profitability measures.

King is also known throughout Invitation Homes as one of the principal architects of the company's Resident First Look program, which offers Invitation Homes residents the opportunity to purchase their home when the company has decided to sell it.  The program, which was launched in 2016 and has expanded to include 13 of the 17 markets Invitation Homes serves, has been successful in enabling more than 100 Invitation Homes residents to become homeowners of the home they had been leasing.
