ITC Decorates Transmission Towers with Festive Lighting as Part of Holiday Tradition


NOVI, Mich., Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- ITC's Michigan operating entities ITCTransmission and Michigan Electric Transmission Company, LLC (METC), which own and operate the high-voltage electricity grid in most of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, are lighting up 10 of their 150-foot tall transmission towers -- with colorful holiday decorations again this year. The transmission towers are decorated with approximately one-third mile of rope lights (17,700 bulbs). The displays include 10- by 15-foot Happy Holidays signs and brightly lit stars at the tower tops. The festive lights will shine every evening from Nov. 16 through Jan. 4.

ITC transmission towers will be lighting up the sky in the following communities:

Avery Sign Company of Ferndale designed and maintains the decorations for ITC. Utility Lines Construction Services places them on the towers.

ITC also will feature lighted holiday signs on its headquarters building along M-5 in Novi and on its office/warehouse locations in Kawkawlin and Wayland.
