San Francisco's Storied Hotel Triton Unveils Newly Designed Property By Designer Liubasha Rose And Rose Ink Workshop

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- San Francisco's historic Hotel Triton unveils its renovated interiors by star-designer Liubasha Rose and her team at Rose Ink Workshop. Constructed in 1913, the property has long been known for its distinctive style. Following a year of work, the six-million-dollar renovation is nearing completion and is reticent of a number of improvements reshaping San Francisco's Financial District and especially the famed Grant Avenue Corridor.

Working with the Hotel Triton team, Designer Liubasha Rose and the Rose Ink team's design focus for the Hotel Triton reflects a contemporary redesign, while staying true to historic elements of the property. The new lobby features a mural which was discovered behind the walls during demolition. Created by famed impressionist artist Jon Oshanna in the 1940s, the artwork beautifully depicts Mission Dolores, San Francisco's oldest intact Mission in California and the oldest building in San Francisco.

Using the mural as the hotel lobby's centerpiece, The Rose Ink team worked to create eclectic seating groups, peppered with found objects and an extensive art collection, creating a bright space filled with cultural artifacts. An element that Liubasha and her team leaned heavily on during the design process is the Danish concept of "Hygge," a feeling of coziness and comfort, contentment and wellbeing. The combination has resulted in a cozy private living room feeling in a very public space.

Continuing their work, Rose Ink Workshop and team worked to further highlight the property's cultural legacy with Hotel Triton's renovated décor choices. The hotel lobby features a Bordiglio marble floor, wood ceiling beams and a custom glass-blown chandelier. Key statement pieces found in the lobby include a collection of Nigerian Yoruba Crowns and a display case filled with minerals from around the world, including sulfur and pink opal. For the corridors and central hotel staircase the team worked to incorporate large scale photographs taken on Liubasha Rose's worldly travels. Combined with bold carpet patterns, the result makes the corridors feel like a global discovery.

"For the Hotel Triton we are thrilled to have been able to stay true to the property's cultural legacy while creating a bastion of worldly culture and local artifacts. Just steps away from the hustle and bustle of the busy San Francisco streets, the Hotel Triton serves as a refuge, and with our décor choices a space that successfully brings together the comfort of home combined with the style and sophistication of a boutique hotel." ? Liubasha Rose

For the property's 140 rooms the Rose Ink team worked to incorporate the feel of a guestroom of a private home. Key elements draw from warm layers, patterned drapery, Frette linens, bed-skirts and extensive artwork ? all with the warmth of Hygge in mind. The rooms and suites feature Carrera marble finishes, custom furniture and elevated drapery. Rose Ink Workshop contributed custom designed lighting fixtures, fabrics, and furniture. Bathrooms, showers and guestroom entryways, meanwhile, are finished with Carrera marble and include Waterworks plumbing fixtures.

Hotel Triton's renovation is one of the many projects reshaping the Grant Avenue Corridor. Considered "The Rodeo Drive" of San Francisco's Financial District, the Hotel Triton is paving the way for the "New Grant Avenue Corridor." Following 105 years since open, the re-invigorated property continues to shine as one of San Francisco's key cultural landmark properties.
