TORONTO, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Gemite Products Inc. has been extensively using Cem-Kote Barrier Cote 100, a multi-functional polymer modified cement coating in a number of applications.

Cem-Kote Barrier Cote 100 is used extensively as a water vapor retarding waterproof coating that allows application of non-breathable polymer coatings (epoxy or polyurethanes) to concrete in moist conditions, or over concrete exhibiting a high-water vapor transfer. Typical applications include below grade concrete tanks, secondary containment structures, and concrete floors, exhibiting water vapor transfer from below or behind concrete, but requiring polymer coatings for chemical resistance.

An important use of Cem-Kote Barrier Cote 100 is as a base coat for installation of non-breathable, reinforcing carbon/epoxy composites in applications with high moisture transfer from concrete ? that exits in any sewer, tunnel and similar below grade installations.

Cem-Kote Barrier Cote 100 provides superior performance as a bonding layer for mortar or concrete toppings, since it reaches up to 1,000 psi pull-off strength with no failure in the concrete substrate (on high strength, pressure washed concrete).  It has been used as a bonding slurry over concrete surfaces which are difficult to clean of polymer primers, asphalt coating, or are contaminated with oil residues.
