G7 and Marubeni sign MOU to collaboratively explore innovative business models in fleet management


BEIJING, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, G7, a leading Chinese smart product and Internet of Things (IoT) technology company, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation with Marubeni Corporation (Marubeni). The two sides will cooperate in areas related to the smart management and operation of fleets, leveraging Marubeni's global fleet management experience, and applying G7's IoT and AI technology. The two companies will explore the establishment of an innovative service model for smart asset and operation management.

Founded in 1858, Marubeni Corporation is one of Japan's top five general trading companies and is engaged in the import/export of domestic and international trade of commodities, technologies, and services. PLM, a Marubeni subsidiary, is the largest fleet management company dedicated to the cold chain trailer operating in the U.S.. Based on the potential cooperation, G7's IoT and AI technology will provide smart fleet operation management support, as well as data platform services for Marubeni. This will enable Marubeni to transform its fleet management as smart, data-driven assets. Meanwhile, Marubeni's vast experience in established international markets such as the United States, will help contribute to the development of G7's, and China's logistics market.

Commenting on the agreement with G7, Mr. Toshiaki Ujiie, Group CEO of Transportation & Industrial Machinery Group at Marubeni, said: "Marubeni has accumulated rich experience through its focus on fleet management and operation transformation.
