BorgWarner Named a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace in Michigan

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BorgWarner is one of the most desirable places to work in Michigan according to the results of the 2018 Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces program.

BorgWarner named a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace in Michigan

To qualify for the Top Workplaces award, BorgWarner employees across Michigan took an anonymous 24-question survey that measured factors such as work environment, benefits, company leadership, career opportunities, communication and more. Statewide, BorgWarner received an 80 percent employee engagement rate, which was 19 percent higher than the average response rate for all participating companies.

"We are very honored to be recognized as one of the Top Workplaces in Michigan because in essence, our employees who responded to the survey gave us this award," said Frederic Lissalde, President and CEO, BorgWarner Inc. "Teamwork is so important in today's business world, and we have an outstanding team. I'd like to thank our employees for making BorgWarner a top place to work and embracing our culture."

Survey results are used to identify the top organizations in three categories based on company size, BorgWarner is in the "Large Company" category with 500 or more employees in Michigan. After evaluations by 60,916 employees from the 244 businesses statewide that competed, 151 were recognized as top places to work.

BorgWarner is driven by people who thrive on growing their professional skills and maintaining a disciplined focus on results. We are proud of our product leadership and tradition of innovation. Our compensation and benefits plans are created to attract, motivate, reward and retain the performance of a highly qualified, globally diverse workforce. In addition, BorgWarner  believes that a healthy workforce is a more productive workforce, and that healthy employees are happier and more satisfied employees. An engaged workforce, modern facilities and above market benefits for employees all add up to BorgWarner being recognized as a top place to work in Michigan.

Along with the other 2018 winning companies, BorgWarner's achievement is showcased online and in a Top Workplaces special section that was published in the Detroit Free Press on Nov. 11, 2018.
