Tourisme Montréal and Feidao partner to offer Chinese tourists a better experience


MONTRÉAL, Nov. 7, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Tourisme Montréal has partnered with Feidao, a new mobile platform available within the WeChat app, to offer Chinese tourists a better experience in Montréal. This comprehensive tool includes a mobile travel guide that's tailored to Chinese travel and consumption habits. It's designed to make it easier for Chinese visitors to discover the city. Tourisme Montréal will share all of its content, translated into Mandarin, on the app. A QR code for downloading the app will be displayed in Montréal's key tourist centres.

"China is Montréal's second-largest overseas market. This partnership will enable us to strengthen our position as a must-see destination for Chinese tourists. We're thrilled to be teaming up with an innovative firm like Feidao as part of our broader efforts to promote Montréal to the Chinese market," said Pierre Bellerose, Vice-President, Tourist Welcome and Innovation at Tourisme Montréal.

Given that more than 80% of transactions in China are currently completed using mobile payment apps, introducing Feidao is a timely strategy for attracting this fast-growing market segment. It gives Chinese tourists access to an e-commerce service through WeChat Pay, a Chinese mobile payment method. This option reflects their spending habits and cashless lifestyle.
